A Texas hat-trick, Chile's first home Test and a Blues hooker in Tokyo: the women's Test round-up
Georgie Perris-Redding's hat-trick keeps the USA unbeaten, Chile beat Mexico 39-10 in their first home Test, and this weekend Japan host Wales with former Blues hooker Nijiho Nagata on the bench while South Africa and Ireland meet in Cape Town.

Beyond the Black Ferns and the Wallaroos, it has been a busy fortnight of women's Test rugby, from a hat-trick in Texas to a historic first home Test in Santiago. Here is the round-up, plus what is on this weekend.
USA 36, Italy 27 (Mansfield, Texas)
The USA Women's Eagles made it three wins from three in the WXV Global Series, beating Italy 36-27. Flanker Georgie Perris-Redding, 29, scored a hat-trick and prop Hope Rogers added two tries, with Bella Vogel kicking four conversions and a penalty with four minutes left. The Eagles led 21-5 after 35 minutes before Italy fought back, wing Francesca Granzotto scoring twice, the second on the last play. "Our offload numbers are completely different, which is great to see," said US coach Jack Hanratty. The Eagles, who have already beaten Ireland 40-36 and Wales 26-24 in the series, meet Italy again in Nashville tonight (Sunday morning New Zealand time).
Chile 39, Mexico 10 (Santiago)
Chile's women, now known as Manque, played their first ever home Test on Sunday 18 October in front of about 3,000 at the national high-performance centre in Santiago, and it was only their second Test of all time, a year after a 54-0 win over Peru in Lima. Mexico scored first, then Chile ran in six tries through Michelle González, Beatriz Araneda, Nahit Maureira, Francisca Gallardo (two) and Camila Igor, with Catalina Villarroel and Carolina Alfaro kicking nine points between them. It lifted Chile six places to 28th in the world rankings, ahead of Mexico and Colombia. "It is a great responsibility to be here and represent Chile," said captain Carla Jorquera.
Next: Chile v Colombia, Santiago, Sunday 8am NZT. It appears to be the first fifteens Test between the two countries, whose long rivalry has been in sevens.
Japan v Wales (Tokyo, tonight 10.30pm NZT)
The Sakura Fifteen play Wales after the Japan v Fiji men's Test, as the second half of the Japan Rugby Football Union's centenary double-header. There is a New Zealand connection on Japan's bench: hooker Nijiho Nagata played Super Rugby Aupiki for the Blues. Japan have three new caps, among them Chihiro Ito, the younger sister of the Brave Blossoms' first five-eighth Ryunosuke Ito. Captain Moe Tsukui leads from halfback. "I want to see the Sakura Fifteen play with speed and precision," said coach Toshizumi Kitagawa. The sides meet again in Kumagaya on 31 October.
South Africa v Ireland (Cape Town, Sunday 2am NZT)
The Springbok Women host Ireland at Athlone Stadium in the first women's Test between the two on South African soil. Sizophila Solontsi captains in place of the injured Babalwa Latsha. South Africa beat Italy and Spain in the series but lost heavily to Wales; Ireland beat Japan and lost narrowly to the USA. The second Test is on 31 October.
Canada v England (Ottawa, today noon NZT)
After Canada ended England's 41-match unbeaten run in Toronto, the two meet again in Ottawa; that story has its own article.
